Here you can learn more about the “Testing Two Implementation Strategies in Collecting ePRO among Multiple Myeloma Patients,” which is part of the PROTEUS Learning Health Network. The Learning Health Network is focused on improving the use of patient-reported outcomes (PROs) in oncology clinical practice. Also, you can read about the valuable insights that have emerged from their participation in the Learning Health Network.

Project Overview
The ePRO4MM study investigates two patient engagement strategies to collect electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePRO) data among patients with multiple myeloma (MM). We are comparing response and completion rates of ePRO using text a messaging (TXT) approach versus a MyChart approach. In addition, we are examining the usability and satisfaction of the two interventions. Among those receiving the MyChart intervention, the data show that participants are satisfied and that 88.0% of participants completed at least one symptom questionnaire.
Learning Health Network Experience
Through our monthly discussions and presentations, we have a better understanding of how to increase patient enrollment and engagement. For example, we have acted on the recommendation to encourage providers to discuss the study with patients and have seen an increase in enrollment.
